A 34 foot tall poll is supported by 2 wires that are anchored 8 feet from the base of the pole how many feet or wire is needed for the support wires​

34.93 feet

Explanation:

Using a^2+b^2=c^2

we can substitute a and b in which is

34^2+8^2=c^2

1156+64=c^2

1220 = c^2

Now we need to square both sides

√1220 = √c^2

34.9284983931 ----> 34.93

34.93 = c

c = 34.93

Using the Pythagorean theorem:

Length of wire = sqrt(34^2 + 8^2)

Length of wire = sqrt(1156 +64)

Length of wire = sqrt(1220)

Length of wire = 34.9285 feet

There are 2 wires:

34.9285 x 2 = 69.857 feet

Round off as needed.
