Please Help!! The length of a rectangle is eight more than twice it’s width. The perimeter is 96 feet. Find the dimensions of the rectangle.

Answer:

The rectangle is 13 1/3 ft x 34 2/3 ft

Explanation:

w = width & l = length

Length = 2w + 8

Solve for w.

96 = 2(w + 2w + 8)

Simplyfiy

96 = 2(3w + 8)

3w + 8 = 48

3w = 40

width = 13 1/3

length = 2(13 1/3) + 8 = 34 2/3 ft
