Mrs. Pedersen has to pay the follow bills every month. House: $575 Electric: $230 Gas: $170 Phone: $120 Car and Insurance: $550 Groceries, cable, etc: $500 If she already has $3000 in her bank account and she has to pay those same bills for THREE months, how much money does she need to deposit to cover the bills AND still have $500 in her account???

The bills for 3 months is


2145* 3=\$6435

Amount of money in the bank account =
\$3000

To pay the bills she needs


6435-3000=\$3435 more.

She also needs to have $500 dollars after the bills are paid so


3435+500=\$3935

Hence, Mrs. Pedersen needs to deposit
\$3935 in her bank account.
