Explanation:

A polynomial f(x) divided by (x - a) has remainder f(a)

f(x) = 9x² - 4x - 7 is divided by (x - 3) , then remainder is

f(3) = 9(3)² - 4(3) - 7 = 9(9) - 12 - 7 = 81 - 19 = 62
