Since both the triangles are similar,

(y-2)/(y+4) = 4/8

8(y-2) = 4(y+4)

8y - 16 = 4y + 16

8y - 4y = 16 + 16

4y = 32

y = 32/4

y = 8


The perimeter of triangle PQR:
4 + 6 + (8-2)

= 10 + 6

= 16 ft.
