If triangle ABC is similar to triangle EHG, find the measure of angle EHG.

If triangle ABC is similar to triangle EHG, find the measure of angle EHG.-example-1

Explanation:

Firstly let's calculate the unknown angles in triangle ABC

2x + x + 60° = 180° { being sum of angles of triangle }

3x = 180° - 60°

3x = 120°

x = 120° / 3

x = 40°

2x = 2 * 40° = 80°

Now since it is said that triangle ABC and triangle EHG are similar so

< EHG = < ABC = 2x = 80°

Hope it will help :)

First we need to find all the interior angles. So we know that the inside of a triangle (all the angles added up) equals 180. So we need to equal all the inside angles to 180.

2x + x + 60 = 180

Now lets start to solve. First let's subtract the 60 from both sides.

2x + x = 120

Now we need to add the x's together.

3x = 120

Now we must divide the 120 by 3 to get x by itself.

x = 40

Now just replace the x with 40 to find each of the sides. I'm guessing the triangles are reflecting each other so <EHG would be equal to 80.

ALSO to check if 40 would be correct, add all the angles together in the same triangle and they SHOULD add up to be 180! Which they do!
