3x = x^2 - 54
Subtract 3x.
x^2 - 3x - 54
Factor.
(x - 9) (x + 6)
Solve.
x - 9 = 0
Add 9.
x = 9
Solve.
x + 6 = 0
Subtract 6.
x = -6
Positive solution -
x = 9
