(A) If you write the coordinates on a graph, you can find the distance between the drinking fountain and bench by applying the distance formula: (x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2. So this is how to solve it:

1. (0--4)^2+(2-2)^2

2. (0+0)^2+(2-2)^2

3. (4)^2+0

4. √16

5. 4
