HELP ME PLEASE SOMEONE

How do i do the substitution method for this:
y=x-1
and
y=-x+5

x = 3

y = 2

Explanation:

Since both equations are equal to y, you can set them equal to each other.

So...

x - 1 = -x + 5

Combine like-terms and simplify. Isolate the x. Add the x to the left from the right and add the 1 to the right from the left. Then divide to completely isolate the x.

2x = 6

x = 3

Now we just plug 3 in place of x for either equation.

y = (3) - 1

y = 2
