Answer: 4 = n

Explanation:

5n + 34 = -2(1-7n)

Distribute negative 2 to both 1 and negative 7n. You do this first due to the rules of PEMDAS

5n + 34 = -2 + 14n

Add two to both sides of the equation in order to further isolate (n) in 14.

5n + 36 = 14n

Subtract 5n from both sides of the equation so that the values with (n) are on one side of the equation.

36 = 9n

Divide nine from 36 and 9n in order to isolate (n).

4 = n

This then gives you your final answer.
