Answer:

s for length of either equal side

b for the unequal side

b=-2+2*(s+s) and 2s+b=40

b=2*2s-2

b=4s-2

2s+4s-2=40

6s-2=40

6s=42

s=7

b=4*7-2

b=28-2

b=26
