A 10-pound bag of grass seed will cover an area of about 4000 square feet. The relationship between pounds (p) of grass seed and area (a) can be written as a = kp. What is the value of k?

Since 10 pounds of grass seed covers 4000 sq ft, we can rightfully assume that 1 pound covers 400 sq ft. K is in relation to the base number of sq ft a 1 pound bag can cover. Making K = 400. Here’s an example 4000 = 400(10), this equation can be used to solve this problem.
