Explanation:

The measure of an angle formed by two tangents to a circle from a point outside the circle is half the difference of the intercepted arcs.

The intercepted arcs are 117° and y.

The total arc measure of a circle is 360°.

Since one arc measures 117°, then the other arc measures

y° = 360° - 117° = 243°


x = (y - 117)/(2)


x = (243 - 117)/(2)


x = (126)/(2)


x = 63
