Area of a circle is

From the given figure, it is clear that

Area of shaded region = Area of larger circle - Area of smaller circle

\pi (14)^2-\pi (7)^2

(22)/(7)* 14* 14-(22)/(7)* 7* 7

=
616-154

=
462

Therefore, the area of the shaded region is 462 sq. cm.
