The width of a rectangle is 2cm more than 8 times the length. The perimeter is 68cm. What are the width and length of the rectangle?

Length = 3.56cm

Width = 30.48cm

Explanation:

We can use the following equation ty o solve


68 = 2(2 + 8x) + 2x

Length = x

Width = 2 + 8x

Reduce

68 = 4 + 18x

x = 3.56

We then plug x in width equation and get 30.48
