Some historians have argued that the United States won the Cold War by forcing the Soviet Union to compete with the United States in military spending. Do you agree or disagree? Explain.

I disagree, the soviet union was already spending so much in military, there was no way that just because they were competing that that’s why the united states won, the united states was also already spending so much it was a cold war. The united states won because of all the allies they had to stop the spread on communism, and then the iron curtain came down.
