split the figure into two pieces (a triangle and a rectangle)
area of rectangle:
length x width = 20 x 8 = 160
area of triangle:
(base x height)/2 = (20 x 6)/2 = 120/2 = 60
add the two areas:
160 + 60 = 220
answer: 220 square units
hope this helps
