x = 3, y = 2

Explanation:

As due to congruency,

x + 3 = 3y

[By putting the values of x = 3 and y = 2]

=> 3 + 3 = 3 × 2

=> 6 = 6

and,

x = y + 1

[By putting the values of x = 3 and y = 2]

=> 3 = 2 + 1

=> 3 = 3

Hence, proved
