-3v+11=-8v+51

1. add 3v to -3v, then add 3v to the other side.
11=-8v+11+51+3v

2. add 11 and 51
11=-8v+62+3v

3. add 3v to -8v
11=-5v+62

4. subtract 62 from 62, then subtract 62 from 11
-51=-5v

5. divide -5v by 5, then divide -51 by 5
-10.2=v

Answer: -10.2
