Society is very focused on superficial ideals and the way one presents themselves to others. This can present itself via physical appearance, the amount of money one makes, one's education level, etc. We make judgments daily, based upon what we believe makes someone attractive or successful. Jeff has also fallen prey to this. He is nicknaming his neighbors on what is, stereotypically, looked down upon in society. He is making judgments based upon simply appearance and marital status, particularly on women. This is a great representation of how women are judged more so than men, especially when it comes to these two things. Jeff most likely grew up with these sexist, judging ideologies as normal, and probably hasn't done enough on his part to realize how harmful simple nicknames like this can be.
