2 shirts = $24
To find the sale price, convert 30% to a decimal by dividing by 100, = 0.30

24 x 0.30 = 7.20 discount.
24 - 7.20 = 16.80 for 2 shirts

Now we add the sales tax, 0.05 (converted like the sale percentage was)

16.80 x 0.05 = 0.84 tax
Add tax to the price of the shirts
16.80 + 0.84 = $17.64
