At the end of the season, 4 basketball teams in a league are having a pizza party at a restaurant.

The restaurant manager suggests that they order one pizza for every 6 people. How many pizzas
should they order?

14 pizzas.

First, add up the numbers of players on each team and the coachesto get the total number of people eating.
17 + 21 + 20 + 17 + 9 = 84

Then, you can divide 84 by 6 to see how many pizzas: 84/6 = 14

If you’re teacher wants you to set it up as a ratio, it’s 6/1 = 84/x

Then you cross-multiply:
6x = 84
Divide both sides by 6
x = 14
