Thka event occurred in New York in 1938. After this misconstrued broadcast, it was followed up by a fake news reports including the report of attacks and plane crashes. It was such a horrible event as the fear of being under attack from extraterrestrial forces clouded the minds of many. Though notices were sent to to quell the situation and reassure citizens, lawsuit threat were put up against the press for their action even though it was sublty made known that it was a dramatization.
