Pretend that n is equaled to 2

2 + 2 + 2 + 2 is also equaled to 4 * 2 because there are four 2s.

It is just the same as n + n + n + n = 4 * n

4 * n is also written as 4n which is B.

Lets also look at the other answers.

A does not make sense because 4 + 2 (the example) does not make sense.
