x = 2.2

Explanation:

- 4 (2x + y = 3.4) + (8x + 2y = 11.6)

( - 8x - 4y = - 13.6) + (8x + 2y = 11.6)

- 2y = 2

y = - 1

2x + ( -1 ) = 3.4

2x = 4.4

x = 2.2
