Ableism is the discrimination, prejudice, and/or oppression against people with disabilities, that of which could be physical or intellectual. It classifies people with disabilities as being "less than", and encompasses harmful stereotypes and generalizations.

A couple examples of direct ableism would be someone mocking a disabled individual. This could be making rude jokes or include the usage of slurs. Another one would be speaking for a disabled person or to them as if they're a child.

More systematized cases would be failing to integrate more accessible features for buildings, such as wheelchair ramps and not having braille on signs
