Jews were the most prosecuted group during the reign of Adolf Hitler. Over 1.47 million Jews were assassinated and massacred. The oppression was gruesome and intolerable. As explained by the Wiener Holocaust Library: “Between 1933 and 1938, over four hundred antisemitic laws were enacted.” Those laws limited each and every area of Jewish life. There were many laws, such as “Law for the Restoration of the Professional Civil Service”, this law made sure that Jews could not work in the Civil Service. Then, quickly came another law, the law of “Law Against Overcrowding in Schools and Universities” this law as mentioned by the Wiener Holocaust Library: “limited Jewish students in German schools to a maximum of 1.5% of the total intake.” Later, the “Hereditary Farm Law” was passed. That meant that Jews couldn’t own or run farms. Also, as mentioned by the Wiener Holocaust Library: “There were two main laws. The Reich Citizenship Law declared that only ‘Aryans’ were Reich citizens. As Jews were considered non-‘Aryan’, this law stripped them of their German citizenship and made them stateless in their own country.”
