1. A) There are 16 pieces of fruit in a bowl and 8 of them are

oranges. What percentage of the Fruit are oranges? (Please explain)

50% of them are oranges.

Explanation:

Half of the fruit in the bowl are oranges and the other half aren't. As a percentage, 50% would describe the oranges in the bowl and 100% would describe the overall amount of fruit in the bowl since half of 16 is 8. Sorry if my explanation is confusing.

Answer:

If there are 16 pieces of fruit and 8 of them are oranges then 16 - 8 = 8. This proves that 8 is half of 16 so the percentage of oranges in the bowl is 50%
