M is the midpoint of AN , A has coordinates (–6, –6), and M has coordinates (1, 2). Find the coordinates of N.

Answer:

(8, 10)

Explanation:

M is +7 plot points away from A in the x-axis, and +8 plot points away from A on the y-axis. Becuase M is the mid point that means M will be the same distance away from N as it is from A.

This will mean that that N is +7 plot points away from M on the x-axis, and +8 plot points away from M on the y-axis.

So to find N we add this to the coordinates of M:

x=1+7

x=8

y=2+8

y=10

So the coordinates of N is (8, 10)
