Naomi can run 12 miles in 108 minutes. She is thinking about running in two different races, a 9-mile race and a 13-mile race. At her current rate, how many more minutes will it take her to complete the 13-mile race than the 9-mile race?

If you divide 108/12 to find out how many minutes it takes her to run one mile, you’ll get 9. Then, you’d multiply 9 by 9 and then 9 by 13. You’d get 81 and 117. Then you’d just subtract 81 from 117, leaving you with your answer of 36 minutes.
