Answer:

y = 2x - 4

Explanation:

the equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

given the line with equation

y = 2x + 2 ← in slope- intercept form

with slope m = 2

Parallel lines have equal slopes , then

y = 2x + c ← is the partial equation

to find c , substitute the point (4, 4 ) into the partial equation

4 = 2(4) + c = 8 + c ( subtract 8 from both sides )

- 4 = c

y = 2x - 4 ← equation of parallel line
