Answer :

  • Tropic of cancer , Winter

Step-by-step explanation :

  • Summer solstice is a term given to the position of the planet when the sun rays fall directly on the Tropic of Cancer . It happens on 21st of June annually and due to this direct fall of sunrays, the northern hemisphere faces the longest day and night. While the phenomenon take place , the Southern hemisphere stays in the cold and thus, the season is winter.
  • If the sun rays were to fall directly on the Tropic of Capricorn, it would be called as Winter Solstice and it takes place on 22nd of December every year. Due to this, the days are shorter and nights are longer in the southern hemisphere and vice versa for the northern hemisphere.
  • If the sun light fall directly on the equator, the phenomenon is called equinox and it occurs on 21st March and 23rd September. The day and night are equal on these days everywhere on the earth .
