There are 150 trees in the park. Elm trees represent 40% of the trees in the park.

How many elm trees are in the park?

There are 60 Elm trees in the part

We are trying to find the part, which is the number of Elm trees given the percent of the Elm trees and the total amount of trees.

Part = Percent × Whole

Let x be the part

x = percent × whole

x = 0.40 × 150 (with changing the percent by dividing it by 100)

x = 60
