Turning them to improper fractions,
3 1/3 = 10/3
2 1/4 = 9/4
Times them together
10/3 x 9/4
10 x9 = 90
3x12 = 36
90/36
Back to a mixed fraction
2 18/36 or 2 1/2
So your answer is 2 1/2
