Answer:

10x-2y=16

we simplify by 2→5x-y=8

5x-y=8

5x+3y=-12

per substitution:

5x-y=8→-y=8-5x

we replace y in the equation 5x+3y=-12

5x-3(8-5x)=-12

5x-24+15x=-12

20x=-12+24

20x=12

x=12/20=3/5

we calculate y:

10x-2y=16

10*3)/5 - 2y= 16

30/5 -2y =16

6-2y=16

-2y=16-6

-y=5

y=-5

solution (3/5;-5)
