there are two bags of marbles The first contains one green one red and two blue marbles second contains one green one blue and two red marbles A random marble from each bag is removed what is the probability of removing a red and a blue give your answer in the simplest form

Answer:

5/16.

Explanation:

Prob(Red picked from the first bag) = 1/4.

Prob(Blue picked from the second bag) = 1/4.

Probability of these 2 events occurring = 1/4 * 1/4 = 1/16.

But there is another scenario where a blue is picked from the first bag and a red from the second

Probability of this is 2/4 * 2/4 = 1/4.

So the required probability is 1/16 + 1/4 = 5/16.
