mu - 2*sigma = 38-2*5.2 = 27.6

mu + 2*sigma = 38+2*5.2 = 48.4

Step-by-step explanation

According to the Empirical Rule, about 95% of the normally distributed data is within 2 standard deviations of the mean. We subtract 2sigma from the mean mu to get the lower bound. That gets us 27.6 as shown above. The upper bound is calculated with the formula: mu + 2*sigma. Doing so will get us 48.4 as shown above.
