Jacob read in an article 10% of all people are left-handed. He was curious about the accuracy of

this statistic and decided to collect his own data. He visited the 7th grade homerooms at his
school and asked whether they were right-handed or left-handed. Here are the results of his
survey, Did Jacob’s survey produce a higher or lower percentage of left-handed people than the
percentage in the article? Explain your answer or show how you determined it.

Answer:

answer is 12.5/ higher percentage.

Explanation:

I got this by adding up right handed people and got the answer 72. I added up left handed people and got 9. I then made it into a fraction which is 9 over 72 or
(9)/(72). I then made the fraction into a percentage or decimal and got 12.5%
