Answer:

about 65 skittles.

Explanation:

when you do 2,200 divided by 34 you get 64.7 if you round that you’d get 65 so, each person would receive about 65 skittles in there bag.

Answer:

Each gift bag will have 64 Skittles.

Veronica will have 24 Skittles leftover for herself.

Explanation:

Given:

  • Veronica bought 2,200 Skittles.
  • She invited 34 friends to her birthday party.
  • She wants to give them each the same number of Skittles in their gift bags.
  • She will keep any that are leftover for herself.

Solution:

To find out how many Skittles will go in each gift bag, divide the total number of Skittles by the number of friends:

\sf (2,200 Skittles )/( 34 friends) = 64.7\textsf{ Skittles per gift bag}

Since Veronica cannot give out parts of Skittles, she will round 64.7 Skittles per gift bag down to 64 Skittles per gift bag.

To find out how many Skittles Veronica will have leftover for herself, subtract the total number of Skittles in the gift bags from the total number of Skittles she bought:

\sf 2,200 Skittles - (34 friends * 64 \textsf{Skittles per gift bag) }

= 24 Skittles leftover for Veronica

Therefore, each gift bag will have 64 Skittles, and Veronica will have 24 Skittles leftover for herself.
