Answer:

4000 micrometers/cell

Explanation:

There are 40 consecutive cells in a diameter of 1.6mm.

Lets convert mm to micrometers, to start.

(1 mm) = (1000 micrometers)

Make this into a conversion factor:

(1 mm) = (1000 micrometers)

1 = (1000 micrometers)/(1 mm)

Convert:

(1.6mm)*((1000 micrometers)/(1 mm) = 16,000 micrometers/1 mm

Now divide by the number of cells to find their diameter

(16,000 micrometers)/40 cells

4000 micrometers/cell
