Answer:

40 cakes.

Explanation:

She makes a profit of 5 - 2 = $3 on each cake.

So she would have to sell 120/3 = 40 cakes.

Answer :

  • 40 cakes

Given :

  • Cost Bri pays for the ingredients of each cake : $2
  • Cost at which Bri sells each cake : $5

To find :

  • No. of cakes Bri needs to sell in order to gain a profit of $120

Solution :

Firstly,

we are required to find out how much profit Bri makes from each cake :

  • $5 - $2 = $3

Now, we will divide the total profit required to the profit made by selling each cake.

  • $120/$3
  • 40

( 40 cakes would make up a total sum of $200 out of which $80 would be the cost of ingredients used to make the cakes and rest of $120 would be the profit .)

Thus, Bri is required to sell 40 cakes in order to gain a profit of $120 .
