From a rope 75 meter long pieces of equal size are cut,each measuring 7/2 meters.How many pieces are cut off and what fraction is left?

Answer: 73,5 meters are cut off and 3/2m are left

Explanation:

1.- Divide 75 in 7/2 that is equal to 21,4...

2.- Take just the 21 and now multiply for 7/2, so it equals to 73,5

3.- Now do 75 less the result of the multiplications that is 3/2

The result is that 73,5m are cut off, that means that 21 pieces were cut equally and that 3/2m are left.

75÷7/2=21,4285...

21×7/2=73,5

75-73,5=3/2
