Answer:

45

Explanation:

We can see that b=3 in this equation, so the first thing that we need to do is plug 3 into the equation wherever 'b' is present. We should then have something that looks like this: |-4(3)-8| + |-1-(3)2| + 2(3)3. (Notice the absolute value symbols on the outsides of the equation). The first thing that we need to do is solve for the numbers inside of the absolute value symbols. Lets look at |-4(3)-8|. Negative four multiplied by 3 is equal to -12. If we subtract 8 from -12, we have -20. So |-4(3)-8| has now been simplified to |-20|. Now let's look at the second part of the equation: |-1-(3)2|. If we multiply 3 by 2, we have 6. That would leave us with |-1-(6)|. Subtracting 6 from -1 gives us -7. So now we have |-7|. For the last part of the equation, we simply need to multiply 2 by 3 by 3, which gives us 18. Putting the equation back together, we have |-20| + |-7| + 18. Because the first two parts of the equation are inside of the absolute value symbols, they will always be positive. This leaves us with 20+7+18, which is 45. This is our answer.
