Answer: w+(4+w)=12

Step-by-step explanation:

the width is w on its own and the length is 4 more than the width

that is why they would be adding w + 4 (the length) with w (the width) to get their final answer of 12.

Answer:

option C:

w(4 + w) = 12

Explanation:

let width = w inches

length = 4 + w inches

area of rectangle = width * length

= w (4 + w)

according to question,

area of rectangle = 12

thus,

12 = w (4 + w)

option C is the correct answer
