After a runner finishes a race, they slow down to a stop. if the runner was initially running 5m/s and accelerates with -2m/s² until they are stopped, what distance will they travel after the race ends?

a = -2 m/s²

v = v₀ + at

0 = 5 + (-2)t

t = 5 ÷ 2

= 2.5 s

s = s₀ + v₀t + 1/2 at²
