An apex is just a pointy place. I found this definition on the web:

"An apex is the highest point of a shape. The apex is a vertex where two or more lines or sides meet."

So we can rule out a sphere, because it doesn't have any pointy places.

A pyramid does, that's pretty obvious.

Does a cylinder? Hmmm, it has a highest surface, but not a highest point. But more importantly, "2 or more lines or sides" don't meet, so it doesn't.

A cube would seem to, because if you stood it up on a corner then it would have a highest point. But the internet says it doesn't.

A cone does.
