Those legs are 3 units and 5 units long.

Then use the Pythagorean theorem:


a^(2) + b^(2) = c^(2)

It's c we want, so solve for c:


c = \sqrt{a^(2) + b^(2) }

Plug in 3 & 5 for a and b:


c = √(9 + 25) = √(34) = 5.83

So yes, you got it right!
