Suppose that you are transported to a planet with the same size (radius) of Earth, but with three times its mass. What would your weight on this alien planet be (compared to that on Earth)?

Explanation:

Acceleration due to gravity is:

g = GM / R²

where M is the mass of the planet and R is the radius.

If the radius is the same but the mass is 3 times higher, then the gravity will be 3 times higher.

3g = G (3M) / R²

Therefore, your weight will be 3 times higher.
