Kyra is throwing a beach party and needs 48 sodas for her and her friends. At Kroger, she finds a 12- pack of soda costs $3.95, and at Sam’s Club, she finds a 24- pack costs $6.49. At which store should she purchase the 48 sodas? What will her final total be, before tax?

Answer: Sam's Club, $12.98

Explanation:

We will need to compare the amount of money needed to buy from both stores. It will be more suitable if it is cheaper.

Krogers:

No. of packs Kyra needs to buy→48÷12

=4

Amount she will need to pay for 4 packs→$3.95x4

=$15.80

Sam's Club:

No. of packs Kyra needs to buy→48÷24

=2

Amount she will need to pay for 4 packs→$6.49x2

=$12.98

It will cost $15.80 in Krogers and $12.98 in Sam's Club. She should buy from Sam's club as it is cheaper.
