Answer:

x=1/2, -7/2

Explanation:

a) add a 1 to both sides to cancel out on the -1 on the left:

1/2|2x+3|=2

b) multiply both sides by 2 to get rid of the 1/2 on the left side

|2x+3|=4

c) because there are absolute value bars the equation can equal either +4 or -4

2x+3=4

2x+3=-4

d) subtract 3 from both sides to isolate the x term

2x=1

2x=-7

e) divide by 2 for both equations to get x alone

x=1/2

x=-7/2
